FP 23 Unlimited Resources

Inner Strength

What are you doing with what God has given you? Paul said that we have, “…unlimited resources” that God will use to “…empower you with inner strength.” That’s the first step in the change of heart and attitude I challenged you with yesterday.

Many of our relationships are failing because we’re trying to draw on “unlimited resources” that are not yet present in our lives. “Caleb,” said his father in the movie FIREPROOF, “You can’t give away what you do not have.” What a powerful statement! And the only way you can have those “unlimited resources” is when “Christ make(s) his home in your hearts and you trust in him.”

Two questions for you today:

1. When did Christ make His home in your heart?
2. What difference has that made in your real life? (i.e. purpose, words, attitudes, actions, giving of your life daily to the cause of Christ, witnessing the power of Christ in your life, etc.)

Exercise: Talk with your spouse or a close friend and tell them about when Christ made His home in your heart and be honest about the change He has or hasn’t made in your life.

I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Ephesians 3:16-19 (NLT)

Until Tomorrow,

Pastor Steve

PS Marylin and I are in Chicago at Willow Creek Community Church this week and I’ll be speaking at the Reveal Conference tomorrow morning at 11:00 a.m. Your prayers will be greatly appreciated.
