Fireproof Day 21 - Useless?

Feeling Useless?
The next step

Okay, I know it was tough; the message this morning, that is. It was tough because it dealt with each one of us where we live and caused us to take off the "rose colored glasses", the "masks", and see the areas of our lives that need improvement. That's when we grow up in Him as we realize how totally dependent we are on His power and love. But just because we have areas that need attention certainly doesn't mean we're useless. As a matter of fact, until you recognize and admit you have a need, your life will be so superficial that no one can grow by your testimony. Let me explain.

As long as we hide behind a mask then we are useless. It's when we get transparent about real struggles and real problems and day-to-day pressures of life, that we are poured out as a blessing to others. Your true testimony is not built upon theory but reality; the reality of how God delivered you, helped you, moved you beyond some failure or temptation and has redeemed you as His very own.

Useless? Hardly! You are His prized possession and God wants your life and light to shine for others to see His marvelous strength and love.In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16 (ESV)

So if you have problem areas in your life, share them with your spouse or a trusted friend (of the same sex) and as you pray over them and surrender them to God, you'll be ready for Him to use you to bless others.

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. James 5:16 (NLT)

Until Tomorrow,

Pastor Steve
